3 Foods to Fight the Hunger Games

I often channel Katniss Everdeen, one of my all-time favorite fictional characters. She’s the female lead and protagonist of Suzanne Collins’ The Hunger Games trilogy. Bold, beautiful and with no shortage of grit, Katniss is the one I’d choose to be next to if ever stuck in a foxhole. This weekend the trilogy’s long-awaited Catching Fire hits theaters. I already have my ticket. Booyah!

Easy Button Fats and Oils: Here’s how I like to incorporate fats and oils into my diet:

Coconut Fats: These are super healthy and my favorites. Coconut oil (which is the best cooking oil), coconut butter, unsweetened coconut flakes and coconut milk.

Olives and Avocados: Use olive and avocado oils as drizzle oil for salads, and nibble on olives and avocados as snacks. These fats really are the wrinkle blaster!

Animal Fats: These are an excellent choice for cooking. Fats like lard; tallow, butter and ghee (clarified butter) are healthful, delicious options.

So fight the hunger games, and may the odds be forever in your favor!
