My family follows a pretty close paleo/ gluten free lifestyle but we also like to indulge and have sweets during holidays. I also like to have a glass of red wine while watching my favorite TV shows to unwind with my husband, not every day but 1-2 times a week. This tends to add up quickly on my waistline and cause major bloating. I was excited to start right after the New Year because I have weddings and events coming up this year that I want to feel great for. I was also noticing my energy levels were plummeting and after having 3 kids in 5 years, my hormones have simply been “out of whack.” I am always cooking in the kitchen and testing out gluten free or paleo meals so when I began this was a piece of cake for me (definitely easier than the 21 Day Bone Broth Diet in terms of food prep). Making coffee in the morning – easy. Grabbing a Slim Collagen Cooler packet, ice, 2 handfuls of store bought pre-washed greens, berries I washed on Sunday, and some coconut milk I have on hand- EASY. Plus, my 4 and 2 year old always wanted some and I was so happy to share!!! If I was running errands I would just bring it with me so I made sure I had it between 12 and 1 PM. Dumping broth ingredients into 2 crock pots then straining into jars-easy! (but messy!) I made the Creamy Tomato Florentine and the Cauliflower Soup which both were SO helpful between my afternoon shake and my dinner! I had about 1-2 cups each day and some La Croix if I was getting hungry. Lastly, when it came to my SLIM plate I was already used to doing this, like I mentioned above, minus adding rice, squash, sweet potatoes or organic white potatoes. So I left those out for myself and made a huge bowl of non-GMO, organic rice for the family to add to their plate if they wanted it (of course they did!) I loaded my plate with as much vegetables as I could stack to stay full until the next day but I quickly saw that hunger diminish. During the 10 days, I really missed wine and found myself some days craving something fatty and salty like a slice of raw cheese—so I grabbed some olives and that helped. When I craved wine, I would make hot tea. I think the habit was more drinking something while watching the shows vs the wine itself! Here is how I felt for 10 days: Day 1 -I made it through just fine, I think I had enough stored energy from carbs over the holiday weekend. Day 2 -I was starting to get my nightly cravings of healthy salty snacks but was fine and determined. Felt hungry so I drank broth and 32 oz of lemon water. Day 3- I was very, very cranky in the morning, I had very little patience with my kids getting out the door for school. Day 4- Even worse with mood swings and noticed slight blemishes on my face. Dull headaches. Day 5- Experienced diarrhea, craving wine, more blemishes. Day 6- Woke up with more energy and better mood! Day 7-10- Feeling slimmer, more full, not staring at the clock for a shake or a meal. I am now on Day 3 of my 2nd round and I must say how simple this way of eating is. It has already become a routine for me. Sometimes I still crave wine and salty snacks, yes, but I am able to work through it so much better than before! I am also excited to see if some of my hormone imbalance symptoms subside over time. Both times I felt very excited to get started. It felt like I was in the starting gate of my next race and I had a fresh start at winning this one. That said, the carb flu hit me hard on day 4 and 5 and I was very cranky, no headaches or tiredness for me, just really, really cranky. Once I hit day 6 the remainder of the 10-days were smooth sailing. Both times I lost a lot of weight in the first few days... 5 pounds in the first 2 days! The quick initial weight loss was very motivating and I know it’s what helped pushed me through day 4 and 5. I did a lot more batch cooking and prep the second time around and that made a world of difference. I was able to come home at night with food all ready to go so no need to scramble at the last minute and eat something off plan that I really didn’t want anyway. At times I felt little cravings, mainly for potato chips, but for the most part the cravings subsided quickly. I really think the broth loading soups helped me the most. I love, love, love both the Cauliflower Vichyssoise and the Creamy Tomato Florentine. I did have one day that I went off track, I gave in to those potato chips, and it completely stopped my weight loss for a few days. I’m a super busy working mom so I wasn’t able to make anything super fancy for my SLIM Plate meal during the week—just chopped the the meats I batch cooked and used them in a salad--but I did do some fun stuff on the weekend. My favorite SLIM Plate Meal was a sort of skillet meal where I sliced steak really thin and sauteed it with onions, bok choy, and jalapenos stirred in some chili garlic and served it over cauliflower rice. Sparkling Water and Teatoxing With Dr. Oz

I absolutely enjoyed being on Dr. Oz and talking sparkling water and teatoxing. If you want to know more here’s my take on both sparkling waters and teatoxing. I SAY — GET YOUR SPARKLE ON! As a weight-loss and anti-aging expert, I’m a huge fan of sparkling water. Why? Because it fills you up, without adding carbs or calories to your diet. In addition, it keeps your skin hydrated—and hydrated skin is younger, smoother, and softer. When you choose a sparkling water, be sure to read the label. It should contain NO MORE THAN these three ingredients: water, natural flavors, and (if it’s club soda) sodium bicarbonate. I love to make my own “Spa Water” using sparkling water. I simply add cucumbers, berries, or lemon or lime slices to sparkling water, and top with a sprig of mint. Voila: instant pampering! Here are four more fun ways to make sparkling water a part of your diet: Mix it half-and-half with wine to make wine spritzers—half the calories! Use it in scrambled eggs in place of cream or milk. Use it in place of milk in your pancakes—they’ll be lighter, fluffier, AND easier on your waistline. Add it to tea to make a flavorful, bubbly “fizzy tea.” You can enjoy sparkling water any time, any place. And as my Dr. Oz segment explained, these myths about this healthy drink are flat-out wrong: It’s not In fact, it’ll keep your skin cells hydrated and “bouncy.” It’s not bad for your bones. That’s true for sodas that contain phosphates, which isn’t an ingredient in sparkling water. It’s not loaded with junk. (Just check the labels and make sure your water is the real deal, with no additives.) Finally, while sparkling water may give you a touch of “seltzer belly,” that tiny bit of bloat can help stave off cravings so you can lose weight more easily. That’s a pretty good trade-off in my book. So go ahead… get your sparkle on!   TEA TOXING—WHAT’S THE STORY? Lately, everyone’s into doing a Teatox. This is a fast in which you drink teas infused with veggies, herbs, and spices. What’s the goal? To lose weight and get a good “cleanse.” As a naturopathic physician, here’s my take on this trend. First, Teatoxing is a great way to lose weight. I’m big on fasting, because it lowers your insulin levels, raises your levels of body-sculpting HGH, and helps you clean up your cells—and all of this helps you burn fat like crazy. So I’m giving Tea Toxes a big thumbs-up as a weight-loss tool. Of course, you can get the same benefits from a fast using bone broth—and bone broth will also feed your skin the collagen building blocks that blast your wrinkles.So in my opinion, it wins out over Tea Toxing—because I’d rather lose weight AND look younger! Now, let’s look at that other claim for Tea Toxing—that it’ll give you a good cleanse.If that’s what you’re after, a Tea Tox isn’t likely to give you the boost you want. It’s true that the extra water you’re drinking will help “flush the pipes,” so to speak—and if your savory tea contains caffeine, that can also aid in getting things moving. However, the very best way to battle constipation is by getting lots of fiber from vegetables. With a Tea Tox, you’re getting some nutrients from veggies, but you’re losing all the fiber. So instead, I recommend loading your plate at every meal with non-starchy vegetables like broccoli, kale, Romaine, and spinach. These will help you stay slim AND regular. Bottom line: Tea Toxing gets an “A” for weight loss, but whole veggies are a better choice if you want to want to banish constipation. One final note: if you do a Tea Tox, limit your use of teas containing senna. This is a natural laxative that’s fine in small doses, but not as an everyday drink. Here's why I'm sharing one of my BIGGEST fears with you... and my deepest, personal secret... Growing up as a barber’s daughter was tough... I'll never forgot how many struggles I had.. I looked at the world with such bright eyes and had so many aspirations in life. But not everybody around me felt the same, and they didn’t appreciate my ideas and motivation. I had to bottle up so much for so long, and became fearful of shining. Jumping over this obstacle was one of life’s best lessons for me. Do you remember going thru a tough spot in your life?  A time when you really needed help, support, and inspiration? Sometimes you just want to quit... and I almost did... But ultimately, that's what motivated me to make a change... not just for myself, but for my own family... my children. Sometimes you do things for a cause bigger than yourself, right? Have you ever done something for others, that you might not have done for yourself? Anyway, I've NEVER forgotten how hard I worked... I mean, I worked my butt off, to afford this amazing preschool because they had a farm there... it was very holistic, very natural. Really, I did everything I could to make sure my kids ended up there. When the day finally came... (The acceptance letter came with the words..."Congratulations!") I felt instant relief and so much gratitude. But then it all changed. Nearly overnight. I was heartbroken... See, because they had a farm, I believed that they would teach all the children about "an apple a day...", “here’s where veggies come from”... you know, good nutrition! Sadly, this was not the case. When I got there, what shocked me the most was realizing that nobody was teaching these kids anything about nutrition.  I was so disappointed that I nearly gave up... You've already told your body and your mind 90% of what you're going to feel for years and years to come…) So I couldn't believe that they weren't taking advantage of this... Here it was, the best school that you could possibly be in and they didn't do it. I thought to myself, "Well, I want my kids to have this, so I'm going to do it. That's all there is to it. I'm going to do it." So I went to the head of the school and I asked, "Will you allow me to come in and teach the children ... A program that will teach them how to eat well?" That was the genesis of my mission to help children.... not just my children... but children EVERYWHERE... It's called the "Superkids Wellness" program. SO WHY SHOULD YOU CARE?? It’s fun to fit into sexy jeans or a little black dress. But here’s the biggest reason to slim your waistline: It can help you live longer. Admit it, ladies. We all want to whittle our waists so we can totally rock a little black dress. We want the other women in yoga class to hate us for flaunting sexy abs. And we want to slide into our jeans instead of lying on the floor gasping for breath as we battle that zipper. (Yeah, I’ve been there.) But now there’s an even more important reason for you to make a slim waist a top priority: It can save your life. This week, a shocking finding by British researchers made headlines around the world. The researchers studied nearly 93,000 women, using a simple metric: skirt size. Here’s what they found. Women who gain a skirt size every decade between their 20s and 60s have a 33% greater risk of developing breast cancer after menopause. Women who gain two skirt sizes every ten years have a 77% greater risk. And breast cancer isn’t the only disease linked to a thickening waist. It also puts you at higher risk for pancreatic, ovarian, and endometrial cancer. Scary? Yes. But don’t be scared. Instead, take action. If you’re fighting the battle against belly fat right now, here’s a simple strategy for victory: Cut sugar, flour, and grains out of your life. And that includes so-called “healthy” grains. These foods make your insulin levels skyrocket, and insulin promotes fat—especially belly fat. Ditch your low-fat diet and instead eat a smart-fat diet rich in foods like avocados, salmon, pastured beef, and coconut oil. Studies show, over and over again, that people lose more weight on a low-carb diet than on a low-fat diet. Center your diet around high-quality proteins and nutrient-dense veggies. These foods encourage your body to form lean muscle mass and burn off fat. Do strength training. Unlike cardio, strength training can sculpt your stomach muscles and turn ”jelly” into lean muscle. An optimal vitamin D level is critically important in minimizing your cancer risk; a study of post-menopausal women showed that maintaining vitamin D serum levels of 40ng/ml cut overall cancer risk by 77 percent. Just by following these simple steps, hundreds of my female patients are transforming their bodies. Within weeks, they lose inches off their bellies. Within months, many go from “apple” to “hourglass” figures. So if you’re on the verge of surrendering to a bigger skirt size, just say no. This post is for “Frogman,” an American hero and one of my best buddies. Here’s why I love him. One of my closest friends, Bill, is a Navy SEAL whom I call "Frogman." Like my big brother, we are longtime friends and often laugh about the fact that he's kind of the male version of me (we even call each other our "twin.") Everyone can use a friend like Frogman. After all, it's pretty nice to have your own secret service, having your back whenever, wherever. One thing I can tell you beyond a doubt ‹when the stuff hits the fan, you want him on the wall. When my first book was published, I sent it to "Frogman Bill" and his beautiful wife, Julie. Bill being Bill, didn¹t just read the book, he devoured it, and got TOTALLY into it. He researched everything that existed about Paleo, drove me nuts with questions and lived the lifestyle completely and thoroughly. Bill is ALL-IN no matter what he does. "Frogman" lives in Virginia Beach (East Coast SEAL heaven for the even numbered SEAL teams the odd numbered SEALS live on the West Coast) and spends his time not only defending our country, but doing everything he can in his "Bill-like way" to help transform as many people as he can to a healthier lifestyle. It was great when Paleo Magazine invited me to be a Paleo expert this month! I love sharing food ideas and helping people discover it’s really not that hard to eat clean … you just need a few simple tips and swaps! I always get a good laugh when people ask me —  and they do ALL of the time  — “Do you REALLY eat those weird foods?” This absolutely stupefies me.  The foods that are deemed “normal”… the food that's socially acceptable… the foods that are well marketed … the foods that have the best spot on your grocer’s shelves  — THEY are weird. I call them “frankenfoods,” meaning they are more of a “food product” then an actual real food. Sorting through them is of course my job. Helping you discover foods that get you the results you want is what I do all day, every day. And, yes. I really do eat this way. I know what I get if I don't, and that is I age 10 years, and I’m tired all of the time. No thanks. But I’m not perfect. My kids’ diet is not perfect. I’m a busy working mom, and I do the best I can because eating well is important to me. So, I make it as easy as I can to get the results I need. Take a glance in my fridge, and you’ll always find my “7 Speedy Foods.” They include: My bi-weekly “batch” cooking foods:  Browned meats, cooked and chopped vegetables, asparagus, boiled eggs, premade burgers, meatballs and, often, pre-made breakfast foods. When I made the decision that I was done with all the wavering, all of the hopelessness and frustration associated with eating any other way then with primal foods, I knew the only way to make it work was to have good FOOD MANAGEMENT in place.  At first this may seem like a big deal. It’s not. Here’s how you do a weekly cook-up, or “batch cook”.  I always have two pans going on the stove at once: one for meat and one for veggies. I clean and chop all the veggies I want to steam-sauté, and I set up an assembly line so I can move stuff in and out of the pans without needing to wash in between. Start with the fattiest meat and sauté ’til browned in the “meat” pan, then remove it from the pan and use the same pan, conveniently greased, to cook the next, etc. While the meat is cooking, fire up your “veggie” pan and steam-sauté one veggie after another, using the same water. Just cook one veg, remove it with a slotted spoon to a storage container, keeping the water in the pan hot, so you can add the next veg to the steam bath. Then do it again! On a third burner, hard-boil a dozen eggs for high-quality, grab-and-go protein. I also like to chop up some vegetables that I don’t cook and use all of the time — I throw them in containers. With this method, you can make enough food for 3-4 days in about an hour. Fermented Foods: We are literally bags of bugs. This is a good thing. It’s healthy bacteria that make us strong and beautiful — and we need to really keep these bacteria fertile. I do this with fermented vegetables. Yes, fermented foods can be easy to make, but quite honestly, I buy mine from http://www.rejuvenative.com. The quality is fantastic, they taste great and this method is ultra speedy. I just grab a scoop of the Vegi-Delite or the Live Salsa in the morning, and plop it on my plate with eggs. Healthy Bottled Dressings: I love to have extra flavors on my foods, because this helps me to enjoy clean eating. PaleoChef Dressings from my friend Steve over at Steve’s Paleo Goods are great. I use these to marinate chicken, or if I get burned out on homemade dressings, I use these as dressings for salads. Berries: I always have a ton of berries on hand because my kids gobble them down after school. Not only that, they are really great for deep immune building. A little fact about berries: They clean your blood and make it flow beautifully. The end result? You get squeaky-clean blood, which gives you bright eyes. Grade B Maple Syrup: I use maple syrup as my primary sweetener when I need one. It does have some health properties in there (like B vitamins), so unlike many sweeteners that just take away, this sweetener actually does something positive. You have to try this with my popular waffles. You can even make a bunch of them, and freeze for the kids. Sunday Morning Bacon: I love bacon. My kids love bacon, and if it’s pasture raised with minimal to no sugar, it’s a great sidekick or a great flavor enhancer for other dishes. I am rarely caught without the stuff. People are totally blown away that I advocate healthy eating, yet I eat bacon. The name of the game here is quality. Bacon is a go as long as you are smart about the sourcing here. If the bacon comes from a healthy animal, it can be a great fat and will fill you up for hours. Before sports, it’s great to have a good protein, and fat. So, before my kids are on the field all day, they eat bacon (a great performance food)! Grass-Fed Butter: Conjugated Linoleic Acid is in grass-fed butters and this is very protective for you. It's a healthy type of fat, which will prevent all forms of cancers, keep you looking young and even help you lose weight. So, I showed you mine. Defending Paleo (On National TV with a Live Audience)

Just a few days ago, a producer from Bethanny, as in the Bethanny Frankel Show, called to ask me if I’d like to be featured on her show.  Even with a trip to LA planned just a day away from when she called, I jumped at the chance. The more opportunities to spread the word about Paleo, the better! This time, I was to showcase all the  benefits of living a Paleo lifestyle and was to be pitted against  a doctor who didn’t believe in Paleo. Yikes, right? But no problem. I know the backstory, the inside story, the success story, the you name it story, as it relates to Paleo. Three days later, a car pulls up in front of my home with a driver ready to chauffeur me to New York. I stayed in a beautiful hotel across from Central Park — a  great spot to get inspired for the show! Then, just a day later, and voila, I’m standing my ground in front of a live audience. That live audience, incidentally, made the experience all the better. My take-away?  Whatever you believe to be true … whatever you believe in … stand your ground! Be who you are. Speak up. Make a difference. And never, ever, waiver because of popular vote or general consensus. It’s one sure way  to grow and feel like you are alive.  P.S. A day or two ago, it was announced that the Bethanny Frankel Show will continue through May. Im sorry to see the show end, and I’m glad I had the opportunity to make an appearance as an expert. I’ll be featured on Toxic-Free Radio today at noon EST, checking in with radio host Debra Lynn Dadd as she finishes her 30-Day Reset journey. I’m betting she discovered, quite simply, how food makes her healthy, and how putting real foods first changed her body condition dramatically in just 30 days. You’ve heard me go on and on about the 30-Day Reset because I seen it work time and time again, and believe in it. Show host Debra also believes in living a toxic-free life, so, naturally, she thought the 30-Day was a good idea for her. Getting rid of dietary toxins just made sense to Debra, and she’s not the type of person to drag her feet. In fact, we both got a good laugh over the fact that she went to the store and stocked up on the 30 Day Reset “yes” foods immediately after the call!  I’ll ask her about various conditions she may have had, how much weight she lost, how she looks and if she continues to go Paleo for life. 30-Day Reset Presentation Draws a Big Crowd

I’m just back from a whirlwind trip to Michigan to host an evening seminar on launching the 30-Day Reset. After I was featured on Fox-2 News  on Thursday morning, the calls came in … “Sign me up! Sign me up!” So many metro Detroiters called to reserve a spot at the 30-Day Launch/New Year, New You program, held at the beautiful Community House in Birmingham, MI. I partnered with the great folks at Birmingham Wellness Center.  No less than 250 people reserved a spot for the complimentary program — we sold out! Of course not all showed, but we had a fantastic turnout that included people of all ages — and sizes. Both men and women were interested in hearing more about a healthy way to lose weight, to look and feel great! Some arrived solo, some with their spouses, some with pals and girlfriends … and all shared the common goal of wanting to reinvent themselves. I revealed stories about former patient Drew, who lost more than 100 pounds and literally saved his life on the Paleo program. I talked about a little 2-year-old who tragically died due to issues that may have likely been caused by all the dairy she was consuming. I talked about chronic diseases, intestinal disorders, heart issues, Psoriasis , lethargy and all those things that can be improved and alleviated by embarking on one of My Plans. Boy did women relate when I shared tales about how we all feel when we meet or are around that one person who just sparkles and beams! (Who’s this mom who always glows even during car-pool pick-ups??? Well, I gotta tell you … she’s likely following a healthy, Put Real Foods First diet.) I couldn’t believe all the heads nodding in the audience. It’s as if I turned on a switch for the attendees (sort of like turning on that natural fat-burning switch when everything becomes magical and the transformation begins!). Folks were beaming. I’m excited that this contingency of  interested Michigan residents is ready to launch and I can’t wait to follow their successes.  The Birmingham Wellness Center will be tracking and supporting some 40 individuals as they head into the land of delicious, healthy cooking; a Paleo-pleasing  pantry; sharp decision-making; and a more contemplative lifestyle for a month or so. Oh, and that’s the land of loose-fitting clothes, too… yes! Besides losing weight, we talked about other areas of your life that improve on the my plans. Again, the nodding of the heads on who’s in need of what. The Background Everyone who knows me knows I love kids, perhaps more than grown-ups … or even a night out in Paris.  In fact, I’ve heard time and time again, “Kids are your thing — you should be a pediatrician!” That's what brought me to authors Stacy Toth and Matthew McCarry. Founders of PaleoParents.com, their family-based website reflects the two of them and their lifestyles. These Paleo parents have three young children,  run a business, and are always looking for ways to stay on-budget and still not eat crud. They  make it work in a very busy world, offering tips for eating the healthiest foods without grains, legumes, dairy or refined sugar. I gobbled up their first book, Eat like a Dinosaur, a family-friendly children’s cookbook. My own two kids loved the recipes, so I was totally stoked when I received a copy of their second book, Beyond Bacon. The Premise This book shares great information and recipes about pork. Yep, nose-to-tail pork. Right now you’re thinking: “Pork??? An entire book on pork?” Indeed! First, readers learn a ton about why pork is a healthy addition to the menu. They also learn how to navigate around finding the healthiest cuts and how to save money. In addition, readers discover that local famers and butchers are great resources.  And the best part? More than 100 really awesome recipes (all extremely practical) fill its pages!    What I Love It's a hardbound book. I’m a bit of an old-school book snob and totally dig the cover. The entire book was stunning, actually. The design alone makes it an easy, enjoyable read. I have been a practitioner for 21 years, yet I learned a lot about why buying high-quality pork is super important. The book dispels all the myths about pork —  hook, line and sinker. Readers learn about good Omega 3-fats in high-quality pork. As well, they find out that pork is a great source of vitamin D – who knew? This was a biggie for me (most people I test for vitamin D have a severely low level!). It’s comprehensive and easy to understand. I could give this to a Paleo newbie and he or she would totally get it and love it. Or I could recommend this to Paleo aficionados and they, too, would gain tremendous value. In fact, anyone who’s passionate about a healthy diet without grains, legumes, dairy or refined sugar will get a lot out of this book. It's a jam-packed resource, so you truly get your money’s worth. The recipes  are AMAZING. Check it out … Sweet and Sour Pork, Brownie Sundae and Asian Short Ribs … I had to make them as soon as I cracked the book open! They were right up there with some of my favorite all-time recipes from Eat Like a Dinosaur — Chocolate Chip Cookies, Pumpkin Pucks and Fools Gold Chicken Nuggets, all some of my kids favorites. Beyond Bacon features more than 100 recipes (and each is rated for difficult level)! Alert: The “Sweet Thangs” section is to die for.   Why You Should Add This Book to Your Collection … in Such a Noisy Paleo-Book World Quite simply,  there’s more then meets the eye when it comes to pork.  This is a book that undoubtedly keeps readers engaged, —  flipping through the gorgeous pages is a true pleasure.  And again, the recipes are very well done. The authors keep kids top of mind when creating healthy, tasty recipes. Score! What Didn't Float My Boat I couldn't lock myself in the kitchen for a week and make every single recipe  …  immediately!  So, reader, meet the humble hog. You may just fall in love.

Yep ... I'm still up to the same old tricks ... and having a lot of adventures along the way. I arrived in the desert this morning — Palm Springs, CA, to appear on NBC affiliate KMIR. The temperature registered at about 109 degrees, which barely seemed to phase the locals. The mountains on the way in — with the windmills blowing — was like something out of a movie, something you don't see (EVER) on the East Coast. The folks at the station were an absolute delight and one of the crew just lost 140 pounds in the past 12 months following the Paleo lifestyle! So what was supposed to be a 3-minute segment turned into not one, but two 5-minute segments! I left a trail of coconut aminos and Paleo bread crumbs, and lots of people thinking ... I've got to try this Paleo thing! It was a great day.

All Work and No Play Makes This Author a Dull — but Smarter! — Girl   ... You may think I’ve been pretty quiet lately, and that I flat-out disappeared. That’s not quite the case … I’m on a mission for you and your health. These past several weeks have been full-speed-ahead on a variety of projects. I love what I do and have taken on super-human workloads to the tune of about 15 hours per day for … well, a long time. I’m not complaining — not one bit. It’s been selling like crazy and is becoming one of those classic "must-have" reference books. I’m really proud of the book and blown away by the unbelievable sales, which tells me people care about health in a big, big way. Amazon gave it a great review by such Paleo pros as Melissa Hartwig of Whole9, the Paleo Parents, Nom-Nom Paleo; Paleo fitness guru Pat Flynn of The Chronicles of Strength; and the absolutely lovely and popular Paleo chef Arsy of Rubies and Radishes.   - Boosting Your Immunity for Dummies (2013, Wiley). I worked with Dr. Wendy Warner, M.D. on this enlightening book. She’s a brilliant holistic doc who was coined by Dr. Oz as the doctor with whom he trusts his family! A great all-around health and wellness book, it shares solutions for combating everything from the common cold to autoimmune diseases and even cancer — all naturally. Boosting also dives deeply into food and Paleo nutrition.  Also outstanding: the recipes, courtesy of celeb Paleo chef Melissa Joulwan of theclothesmakethegirl.com and Primal guru Mark Sisson of marksdailyapple.com. We garnered a 4 ½-star rating from Amazon, and are receiving great feedback from some of the best doctors in the United States!     - Paleo Cookbook for Dummies (August 2013, Wiley). Remember The Joy of Cooking? Well this 360-page wonder is truly “The Joy of Paleo.” No kidding. Go ahead and think of one possible cooking/recipe/Paleo-transitioning question and you’ll find the answer in this book, the quintessential solutions guide for Paleo-passionate cooks. As the author, I invited nine Paleo greats to contribute to this treasure, and 75 percent of the recipes are whole30(™)-approved.
